A Cold Hunger
Set against the backdrop of the #vanlife social media movement, A Cold Hunger explores what happens when the limits of desperation clash with social media obsession. Tying together themes of family identity, the dangers of parasocial relationships, and the violence inherent in class warfare, the story is a slow-burn psychological suspense set amid small towns and natural points of interest throughout the American West that steadily builds towards an explosive finish. With an all-too-believable premise and a female protagonist that blurs the lines between anti-hero and sympathetic villain, the story is sure to unsettle even those living inside traditional homes.
A Cold Hunger has undergone a professional developmental edit and is currently being queried with hopes of traditional publication and eventual film adaptation. Aaron welcomes outreach from interested agents/publishers/filmmakers who wish to review additional material.
How to Forage Mushrooms Without Unaliving Yourself
Aaron’s first (and likely only) non-fiction work. After foraging for several years, one common thread came up whenever the topic was broached in conversation – how do you get into the hobby without accidentally eating something deadly?
Most foraging guides aim for completeness rather than ease of approach. They may offer an encyclopedic wealth of information along with keys for decoding it, but don’t work hard enough to hold the hands of true beginners as they venture into the hobby. This volume aims to fill that gap, giving the novice the tools they need to strike out confidently without overwhelming them with information that is only relevant to intermediate/advanced foragers.
HFMWUY is currently being reviewed by alpha readers, and is planned for eventual indie-publication. Outreach from interested agents/editors, or additional alpha readers is welcome.
